Mid-Level Print Designer
ZEALOT is an international creative agency with offices in London, NY and LA, specialising in the film and television industry (trailers, TV spots, social/digital, promos and print).
We are looking for a talented Mid-Level Print Designer to join our growing and vibrant team.
Our ideal candidate is passionate for all things design, with a strong desire to learn, teach a thing or two, and most importantly strives to continually improve and push the creative.
Reporting to our Senior Art Director in Print, you’ll play a key role in shaping visual identities for major clients and projects. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and growing team at a very exciting time.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the concepting/ideation and execution of key art to a high standard for a variety of projects for high-level clients.
- Design every aspect of poster design required for key art - ranging from typography and layout to colour grading and photo compositing.
- Design for any static assets brief as part of our wider print services, such as title treatments, pitch decks, social assets and OOH campaigns.
- Be able to digest and select from a vast amount of marketing materials and content (e.g. unit photography and special shoots), creating a suite of design assets.
- Strong understanding of the technical aspects of image formatting, sizing, resolution and colour profiles for both print and digital output.
- An ability to understand and answer creative briefs and/or challenges with a high level of problem solving.
- Have a can-do attitude and self-initiative to always check in with the wider team on projects and tasks at hand. Brainstorming and collaborating with the wider team.
- Be responsible for organisation of the working projects, QC, and their final delivery to a high standard.
- Collaborate closely with Art Directors, Creative Directors, and Producers, integrating their feedback and pushing the creative to its highest potential.
- Keep up to date with design trends, continually developing new skills, and learning new applications.
- Share and be a source of knowledge for the entire team. Helping junior and assistant designers in developing their technical skills and conceptual thinking.
- Keep assets and projects highly organised and streamlined in line with the team’s and company’s established processes and standards.
- Artworking on finished / locked projects, as well as prepping various client deliverables and assets for delivery.
- Making sure all finished projects are credited correctly
The ideal candidate will:
- Live and breathe design, especially poster design, and have a portfolio of curated relevant work.
- Be passionate about the Film and TV industry.
- Have excellent knowledge of the Adobe Suite (particularly Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign). Knowledge of After Effects and Cinema4D is a plus.
- Have a high-level of technical craft and conceptual thinking.
- Have a great understanding and craft of typography, composition and photo editing.
- Be full of creative ideas and have the skills and enthusiasm to bring them to life.
- Be open to learning and acquiring new skills.
- Have excellent time management and ability to handle several projects simultaneously whilst keeping a level head in a reactive environment with tight deadlines.
- Be focused, proactive and self-motivated.
- Capable of understanding strategy and creatively interpreting client briefs, always keeping the tone and genre in mind when designing.
- Be highly collaborative and communicative, able to work well as part of a team and create strong working relationships.
- Be flexible and adaptable, willing to work in a fast-paced and frequently changing environment.
- Have excellent organisation skills along with exceptional attention to detail.

Salary £40,000 to £50,000

Typical working hours are Monday - Friday 9:30am till 6:30pm, and for the occasional late working there is a fair lieu day policy in place.
Please note, this role requires a minimum of 3 days a week onsite, so candidates must be able to commute and be legally able to work in the UK.
